I wish…
why not? It will run on pretty much anything
I’d have to install steam, and I have no controller… No way in hell am I gonna attempt to play with a trackball
No, it needs to be ISO-8601.
that sounds like quiter talk.
How about minecraft?
Only real problem with the current system of time zones is everybody doesn’t implement it in the same way, if they did there would be no problems.
The US gets the opposite of what they have now. Prepare for sunny nights and pitch black days
You still assume that days and nights start a 7 AM/PM but in a world without timezones the day/night time would charge depending on where your at
meh, I’ll figure something out… Probably just watch some carball or hearthstone streams. Something that doesn’t require audio because I don’t have sound on this system either.
which is why a world without timezones would be amazing. A 5 hour flight from japan to the US would take 5 hours. 1200 -> 1700.
That is the worst part about it TBH
The time would be the same around the world which means while it’s sunny somewhere at 2pm it’s also at the same moment somewhere else dark while it’s still 2pm. The time’s the same but not the day/night cycle.
Timezones are fine. Its people/countries arguing like children about timezones thats the problem. See middle east.
if there were no time zones each county or region perception of time would be different, there would be no common understanding of what times events happen. Time zones give people a common understanding of time, everyone everywhere knows what time morning and night is.
On the contrary. As 2am in Japan would be at the same time as 2am in the US and Europe and everywhere else.
If you say “There was an earthquake at 2am in Japan.”, does that mean at 2am in Japan or 2am in your time zone?
I talking about common daily events, not relatively rare or exceptional ones
Easy. Did they provide the timezone code? Then use that. If not then assume UTC
What kind of daily events?
Morning, midday, and night
Not necessarily. They could still be used for description and be a replacement for how we use timezones now.
Or stick with the day/night cycle and just adapt to the new time (which would probably be healthier for our bodies and cause less of a chaos overall).
