Well… what they call country… imo country died in the late 90s early 2000s as that’s when the pop in it finally took over. Now it’s just pop sung with a southern accent.

its fairly bad here. Were so republican that schools are shutting down due to a lack of funding because our governor is cutting taxes beyond reason
2.9-5.2% tax rate on average. Most tend to fall towards the lower end

RIP. Our governor recently proposed a bill to cut taxes even further but our supreme court had to step in and stop him because schools were so underfunded. My last school you were required to donate toilet paper and kleenx

I actually really like bluegrass if it’s instrumental or only sparse lyrics. Of course I listen to music more for the appreciation of musicianship than anything else so that’s probably why.
Last year Minnesota had a budget surplus our governor to gave a good chunk of it to the schools iirc

Here schools aren’t really underfunded because England and all the taxes but the Education system is so fucked that most teachers end up quitting so we have a huge shortage of them now.
There is a shortage of teachers in most of the US too because not many people want to do it, many can’t do it and quit, plus the pay it shit.
a fair chunck of our budgets goes towards transportation. iirc its around 10%.

Like @Main_Main said. the us is having a teacher shortage. Part of the problem is that schools want good coaches so they might brush off a good teacher in hopes of getting a good coach. atleast thats the main problem here
