The Lounge 0001 [From the Beginning]

Well, they’re Dell. Their displays aren’t shit.
That said, my laptop (cheapo sub-brand of Lenovo) has a great IPS display too (which I wouldn’t have expected, especially for that price).

Semi related; The only HP products I like are professional grade monitors from them.
Basically all the monitors I have are HP Pro displays of various ages.
Currently is an HP 4k 24" because IPS, and 4k, and good specs. And great price.
Previously was triple HP LP2465s because they were 1920x1200, IPS, 6ms response, and cost like $80 at the time lol.

Wooo for getting older gen pro stuff that’s still better than brand new non-pro stuff and also cheaper.

Everything else… Well. They are better than dell, if only barely.

Also yes
Well… Mostly yes. You can’t get away with an Alienware like you can with a Razer blade which is the reason I think the Blade is so popular

tn panels need to die. there’s no place for them in this day and age.

kinda curious about hdr with the individual backlight zones. still in babyshoes from what I read and understand.

Unfortunately I have to deal with HP products a fair bit. We get a 20% discount because my brother works there which is pretty good but products aren’t the greatest. At least the printers work well on Linux so there’s that.

Yea I quite like the more subdued look of the blade. kinda says I like gaming but can be serious when I want to be. Alienware is just I want the bigger badass looking thing because reasons

The latest monitors look quite good, though.
Not that “gamers need bright colors” shit that Acer did/does with their Predator series.

I might be biased. Just a sucker for thin, thin bezels and those colors.

Aaand they’ll be how much?
Lol.
But otherwise seemsGud

I quite like a lot of the older silver and matte black HP laptops… When they were actually good lol.

That and I dont know if I like or hate the MacBook style with the unibody aluminum. Depends in how its done i guess.

The G-Sync model is §450 (25", 1080p TN, 240Hz).
Freesync is $380.

And they’re already available through Dell online and Amazon.

Oh its TN.
But 240Hz is cool I guess?

1440p IPS 144Hz would be more impressive. But how many GPUs can manage that in modern games?

Yeah those EliteBooks were pretty good, having delt with some of their newer stuff though I’m not a big fan on them right now.

Yep. The old ones are tanks, and the only minor downside is that there’s a TON of screws to take them apart lol. But they arent horrible to take apart, just there’s a lot of screws.

Unlike the awful new ones that have horrible hidden ribbon cables, and are altogether terrible to repair lol

Also flashing BIoses on some of the newer Probooks and Zbooks is… I wouldn’t wish it on anyone lol.
Had to replace a couple of motherboards and that was a requirement for the warranty. O boy was that fun

Probably… A titan V? Maybe?
But that’s $3000 so it only kinda counts

I think I’m close to beating Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The combat has an interesting rhythm to it. Soundtrack is also pretty good. I’m enjoying it.

kek. That overwatch one though :joy:

Foobar layout revamp was easier than I thought. Now it would go down to tinkering with the deeper settings.

Reminds me that I need to work on my Looking Glass thing again. Kinda got distracted by the holidays and a bunch of other stuff going on.
