Youtube has lost all direction and google kinda just hopes that it dies in a fire
Its certainly looking that way, I wouldnât even be that mad if it did as long as there was a suitable alternative because things canât continue the way they are for very long before something breaks.
I honestly think youtube will kill off ad revenue before youtube dies but when they do, then its only a matter of time before something happens as that is putting alot of people out of work
hmm so they think theyrâe going to try and kinda move it back to where it was originally as a place to share videos instead of a platform for produced content delivery? The thing is if they do kill off ad revenue you can be sure that theyâll still be serving ads on those videos.
Pretty much but google is a company and has to give zero shits about what people think. This is not a community ran platform or anything and are by no way obligated todo anything. Though they may run into legal issues with killing off ad revenue since were possibly looking at a lay off on the scale of 10k+ people
yep If/when this happens Iâm hoping it is more of a slow decline with ad revenue tapering off over time because the fallout of Google one day deciding to kill it will be a huge problem for everyone involved but the writing is already on the wall.
Mine isnt even showing half the damn videos from people Iâm subbed to and the recommended thing does instead
⌠Y tho
I mostly just watch twitch now except for some of the people that donât do twitch at all that I follow so
After watching enough LTT ive learned that linus does not relie on anyone revenue source. Adsense and Amazong affilate links could both dissapear and he would probably have a plan to deal with it. He runs his channel like a business and it shows.
Yeah I donât like LTT, but Iâm not the target audience. I have immense respect for his business sense, and his marketing is great. Though I donât personally enjoy his content, his marketing seems to be effective to draw in the audience he (and more probable the sponsors) want.
Linus is one of the standout channels that 100% wonât be affected much at all if YouTube goes under you can see with Floatplane and everything they are doing is to grow LMG and make it sustainable for the future. Its sorta similar to a lot of YouTube channels using Patreon now as another source of income but similarly that could also disappear, really to survive in this business you canât rely on one single platform and everyone should take note of this now before its too late.
his content is not great but he covers the basics to get people into tech. Not in-depth to confuse those who are new but not so simple that it completely bores people who know everything
I watch LTT for the stupid projects they do from time to time and nothing else.
Yes, this is the case in pretty much any business. For instance, my businessâs bread and butter is filing returns for individual, but looking at the demographic and the current market trend I can see that Iâm going to have to gather a more varied client base and provide different services. Most young people just use turbotax obligatory fuck turbotax so Iâm going to have to take on more business clients. People with schedule Cs, farms, partnerships, LLCs, rental property, house flippers, etc. (basically anything thatâs not a corporation). Iâve also started doing some light bookkeeping for a couple of businesses. i may decide to go get myself a CPA license to make some things easier and to allow myself to do more (and not have to worry about the legality) but weâll see how it goes for now.
A new CD Projekt Red studio?. Yes. A third one and it is helping making Cyberpunk 2077.
This doesnât surprise me.
Will be recording part of the b roll for the Debian video tonight. Writing first. Then video.
