Cause actually running it shouldn’t be a problem. Fedora works fine on my laptop (not a major brand), but the hotkeys don’t work flawlessly. (like Vol+/Vol- don’t work in steps but keep max/min the volume after a single key press).
On a different topic: the attempt to fix my sleep pattern failed fabulously. Couldn’t sleep until 2pm. Slept until ~9:30pm and am awake since then. Currently 1am-ish and course starts today. Although, there’s a chance it’ll actually start in a week. Today it’s only 8am-1:30pm (should be 3:30pm during the course) and it says on the info letter that the first day is for one-on-one interviews, filling out forms, etc. Dunno, cause on the info day a few weeks back we already got a schedule how long the course is and when it starts. No idea why they would wait another week after that date to actually start it (given that monday in a week is a holiday, so they don’t gain a productive day).
Dunno. Will see today what’s up with that. Would be nice to have another week until the course starts, though.
its ok. ive spent the past 6 years being told you have to goto college if you want todo anything in life because no one will even look at your application if there is only a high school diploma then i realized that the people around me are fucking stupid and way too high exceptions for what they want out of life.
Usually I can do it in 2 by staying awake until “normal” sleeping time on the next day. But yesterday I was tired af and thought “with the course starting on monday and only being half day, when’s the next time I’ll be able to just go to bed when I want?” and yeah, that’s the result: me being awake since Sunday 9:30pm.
Yes, I mean really all employers want is experience over anything else and what I’ve learned is that a diploma really doesn’t mean much either. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still glad that I did it because the experience was great and I learned a lot but the actual usefulness of it compared to the time and money spent probably wasn’t worth it.
The biggest problem is that finding a job is becoming harder and harder, some field are better off then others. Engineering is a one but most work in engineering is around automation of some kind now which only makes the job finding part harder of others. It’s a weird dichotomy.
While a degree doesn’t necessarily mean you know your shit, it can at least show people (clients, employers, etc) that you know a few things about what you’re doing (if a certain standard is applied).
