The Lounge 0001 [From the Beginning]

This is sort of why I like the way Steam does there “games of the year” They have a bunch of categories and just lets the community decide which game wins.

note how i found it amusing lol
I actually liked the game awards show this year
especially this lmao

but it was also annoying at times like the BOTW getting the GOTY
like y tho

which is only somewhat useful because popularity vs what is actually a good game but still is better than a lot of “game awards” or other things that are just bought by whoever to say what they want them to lol

I’d take that over the alternative any day, its better than 10/10 IGN 104 win game of the year. Can get some very interesting games nominated if users pick them.

Exactly, like Warframe being a finalist for an award:

Granted, imo it’s by far the most deserving of this award, particularly with what they rolled out this year, but the fact it got to the finals is quite a feat in itself.

Yes. what I love the most about the way steam is that an older game can still win say if they’ve pushed a massive update like warframe.

Ever played Monster Hunter? Need to sharpen your weapon cause they keep getting dull and the time-limit on missions are what killed it for me. So annoying. Would be one great game if they changed that and put an epic story in it. Think The WItcher 3 + Skyrim + Shadow of the Colossus.

Not perfect either. Most of the time I’m left with a choice of “which one of these that don’t interest me would I pick if I was into them?”.

Boy, that guy was cringey af.
Fuck that award show that is the same as this award show

No that does sound annoying af. Zelda seems pretty well balanced though for the most part.

Nothing is but I find it more genuine and honest to have a game win on collective selection.

Crazy game dev.
If you ever ask yourself “Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to put THIS into a videogame?”…well, that kind of dev.

neat. Im wondering if it can burn windows ISO’s on linux

Sadly not. I tried and it displays an error message if you select a Windows ISO and suggests you use rufus or Boot Camp instead so no Linux option :frowning:

then that thing is completely useless. is gnome disks, dd, and rufus all without being a shitty electron app

Yes my thoughts exactly. It is essentially just a front end in electron by the looks of it. the description of it on github almost exactly lines up with my windows-usb script.

i like electron but jesus christ i dont need 150MB of ram to display a few images and text

Yes. I’d go as far to say that is does make sense for say something like Discord or Lbry but for flashing usb drives? It does looks fancy compared to the alternatives but at what cost.

i understand LBRY but discord is still inexcusable. That is still not even trying

I wouldn’t say I completely agree with it in discords case as I’ve had a fair too many problems with it in the past with it using too much memory or cpu time but I understand why they chose to use it.

Welp Happy New Year.

let the shit show of 2018 begin?
