DS4 report:
I’m using DS4 Windows. Thing is I’m actually use to the playstation controller. My brother had a ps1 but he let me play on it with my out games and cards. Ironically I played the system more than him. Anyway the controller works with no issues. I’ll get the PS4 usb wireless dongle later after I move.

Are you using it wired now?

Yes.

$80 is pretty steep for a wireless adapter. Wouldn’t it work with a BT stick? Or is there an actual advantage to Sony’s solution?

DS4 is a really good controller, I love mine except its kinda broken right now, however In my opinion the wireless dongle isn’t worth it for PC gaming. the Dongle was primarily made to be used with PS Now and Remote Play functions on PC and while it may work on some PC games it doesn’t support Xinput at all and is really just a low latency adapter for the controller. if you want wireless your better off getting a cheap bluetooth adapter and using that instead especially given the price of this adapter.

Good point by both you and @TheDiddilyHorror
Yeah it’d be better to get a bluetooth usb adapter. I probably can get a good one from monoprice or microcenter for not much. I’ll look into it.

Found one for seven bucks on Amazon. I’ll wait till I get paid to get it cause I’ll get other stuff with it like movies on bluray. Also report on ReShade do not for all that is holy do not download the latest ReShade it is broken abd can’t really be using. Stick with 3.1.0 until I tell you other wise.

ReShade wiki has Tomb Raider Preset in it now. I’ll ad Rise of Tomb Raider Tomorrow. I have to make a new one because of 3.1.2 breaking things.

Alright the Preset has been remind.
Here is how the game normally looks

I know… right? Not great. Fog of view much?

Now here is how it looks with the Preset I just finished remaking:

much better.

edit: off to sleep

DS4 controllers are amazing since they have bluetooth. DS4 controllers kick ass for HTPC computers since they have a touchpad builtin and enables you to use more desktop menus then otherwise possible. Games like Civ, Xcom, etc would be great because you can still use the controller to play the game while still getting benefits from mouse input.

Nothing beats a wiimote or joycons for portability though. Wiimote for more 2D and SNES/NES era games while the joycons are better for 3D and FPS games. Joycons are nice for something portable like a laptop while still allowing a slim and portable controller that can fit in the pockets. A portable skyrim, doom, etc setup would be great for joycons

That is a good point, the touchpad is one of the features that is the most overlooked on the DS4 and is what sets it apart from other controller and becasue it works as a regular input device it even works natively on almost any game. I used the touchpad on mine the most to navigate menus and maps on games as it tends to work much better than the analog sticks in some cases especially for maps and such.

Yes, it is a bit of a hassle to set them up but I even got the joycons to work on my laptop,. means I don’t have to carry extra controllers around because I already have my switch with me and they work really great for this even for casual multiplayer on 2d side scrolling games and such since you have two of them and they can be assign either together or individually.

Aaand I’m at work again woohoo lol
But its like my Friday so meh?

Also HAI
morning all. Whats up?

Also huh. Interesting @Dje4321 (also @Michael )

Windows is whatever but might be good for linux anyway

Oh also. I should actually be able to stream today  any picks of what game I should play? Could also do a stream of cleaning the 390X and then testing it but not as sure on that one but if you all wanted to see it it wouldn’t be too hard to do so.

even with x86 emulation, windows on arm will not succeed for the simple fact that most people who would benefit from a arm chip does not know the difference between a arm chip and a x86/AMD64 chip. Linux on the other hand is almost completely there but can satisfy most peoples needs unless your trying todo something like gaming

I would love having a laptop like this because legitimately having a battery that could last a full day of work would be is very appealing to me and Linux support on arm is great for most of the stuff I use anyway but for $1000 right now would rather get something X86

Yeah, for $1000 it doesnt make much sense.
For $500 or $600 though it would be baller. As thats about what highend normal tablets are, but this one has easier support for linux and etc and super nice build quality.
