AMD just doesnāt seem to be able to catch up. I mean, with miners grabbing their GPUs left and right, even causing a shortage and crazy price hikes, they canāt really complain about business. But in terms of performance for gaming Nvidia leaves them behind. Been a while since an AMD GPU was clearly recommended for high-end (unless youāre a die-hard AMD fanboi and hate Nvidia with a passion or a crazy sale comes up).

I mean, with Ryzen Gen1 hitting a wall at 4.1GHz and now even the lowest of the Ryzen 7 series hitting that without having to OC it yourself (yeah, single core 4.1GHz vs all-core 4.1GHz, but still) is kinda cool. But no reason for me to consider upgrading.
But they also upped the TDP for the 2700X by 10W compared to the 1700X.

The boost states look the most interesting to me. Base clocks are like 3.7ghz on all cores all the way to 4.3ghz on one.
Otherwise its not massively different.
