So weird thing. Hellblade didnāt apply the ReShade to the pictures I took this last session. So I am going to use lightroom to enhance those shots and make it look like they would with ReShade. Thatās why I havenāt posted them yet.

Just mostly XFR2 which is just AMDs version of turbo boost 3.0

iirc its XFR and precision boost 2 if you have a ryzen+ cpu

Soā¦basically no reason for people who bought Ryzen Gen 1 to upgrade.
Iām not even sure if Iāll upgrade with Zen 2. Maybe Zen 3 but I donāt see a reason for my current āneedsā to upgrade. A GPU upgrade may be more likely.
Even if Zen 3 was an amazing upgrade over Zen 1, like nothing ever seen and market leading. Maybe a cheaper Zen 3 CPU when its successor launches and isnāt a turd.

Also should be a lot better overclocking across the board. And XFR 2 which is a lot better than 1.

Are RAM prices still outrageous? iirc GPU prices are starting to normalize. If things are priced where theyāre supposed to be I may upgrade this year finallyā¦ unless I decide I want new guitar stuff of course lol.

GPU prices are more or less normal except Vega for used ones.
RAM is still annoying but meh? I can handle expensive ram. Its not like GPUs that were straight up stupidly priced.

@ThatBootsGuy does it what you need it to do or is it struggling?
The issue with memory though is that it effects the prices of the whole market including low end systems, phones, and even GPUs themselves because everything uses memory.
It does what I need it to I guess, I was more thinking the CPU needs an upgrade since thatās only an fx6300 and that does struggle a bit with some workloads.

While I was not building computers in the 90s my dad was and I can also look up archives of things and its still nothing like it was then lol so even the current prices are bearable for me.
(Not sizes of ram, but upgrading by the same amount % wise as now would ā¦ Well. It makes even the expensive ram these days look like a bargain roflā¦ Going from say 128 mb to 256mb was a $800-2000 purchase in the early days of SDRAM (mid to later 90s). Which compared to now, doubling from 16gb to say 32gb would be āonlyā another $200-400 depends on the kit.
So its really not that bad.
Get a cheap 8350 in the meantime? No idea what they go for used.
Current gen CPU upgrade would require a new mobo + RAM, which is a lot more.
Iām not too concerned about how much itāll cost. Iād rather just upgrade it to be good for another 3 years so Ryzen whatever will do the trick of course. Just depends what big purchases I want this year other than the car.
