yes I just found it surprising that people majoring in CS either don’t know or can’t be bothered to put the effort into programming. what I’ve learned is not to go too far with helping especially when it start negatively impacting your own work which was my problem in the end, unless of course your in a group project end up writing the entire thing yourself which was fun.
Absolutely, it’s like, I know i’ve been doing this for now 11 years, i started very young, so i don’t expect the same quality of work from someone who started 3 to 4 years ago, but i do expect something. None of which except for one man (a vet who only learned to program in the last 2 years) met that expectation, he will go far in this field as he has drive and the attitude of a problem solver.
Which both he and I were the only reason that our last group project was a success.
2 out of 6 people…
I swear it was nuts
I would have gone to the professor and been like “Were the only two who are doing any work. Can we just be in a group ourselves?”
@SEP feel free to invite people. Nothing wrong with making the place more lively
I sorta tried this but the professor said it had to be a group project and I was the only person doing anything so yeah. In other group projects they were instances when this happened a lot.
He and i both weren’t interested in pursuing any recourse of that like, since that would probably open up a dispute with the Dean considering one of our members has blood ties… not exactly the easiest situation.
other than din i can’t think of anyone atm, haven’t talked to trucker in a while and Aremis is already here.
and TK dropped off the planet.
doesnt have to be forum fucks. Could be people you know IRL
Ah true, true.
That’s an interesting proposition, bring in some external autism might be fun
the goal is too not have this place be L1T or Crit because then we are right back at where we started lol
Well yeah, that’s understandable.
though i mean, i’m here so… yeah, a little bit of a backfire aye?
They aren’t too autistic, no more than me at least, yet i’m the extreme in my friend group so if that’s any consolation
Finally got Fedora 28 installed after the installer crashed far too many times, now just to setup all the things again, pcie passthrough is gonna be interesting but shouldn’t be too bad.
I forgot the nvidia drivers were dumb and won’t even initialize on a new install with both my cards until I do passthrough modifications for the second one XD
Practice story PROG 5 is live now has been posted.
How I felt today at work:
Nice QEMU now sees my 1700 as an EYPC CPU instead of an Opteron, it also doesn’t freak out if I assign threads anymore too
might want to set cpu topology to 4C8T
yep gonna try it and hoping I get a little extra performance out of it now.
I’ve written the whole outline for the epic. I should be sleepy but thanks to the energy drink I had at 07 00 ET I’m very alert and awake at 18 34 ET.
Spoiler Poll?
The Spoiler in context:
In the epic I’m writing. I’m consider starting it with a question. The question is: How do you tell a girl her Father is dead?
Now the first 5 chapters follow a man who will be raising this girl. This girl is the main character of the story. Now with that out of the way. If the story started with that question would you keep reading?
- Yes
- No
- It would depend on the next sentence.

Could be interesting but starting off strong and finishing weak is not always the best of options.
