I was pretty busy with work today. Now busy with working on writing while my computer compresses one video format to another. Planning on refilming Project Cars 2 video today but if I have to I will push that to tomorrow. I kinda of have to keep an eye on something minor but it requires my attention and could take the whole night. I hope not. Vague is vague for reasons.
Good news. Minor issue been informed on. A discussion is being had.
In other news: Project Cars 2 Video will be filmed and uploaded tomorrow. There will be a thread on it. Also overcame my writers block for Samās Wasteland Within. Finished the 1st chapter for the latest rewrite. Have Written 4 chapters for a different story while I had the block cause writing is important to me and I wanted to write something.
Off to bed.
Have made some progress with qemu and using a physical drive. It works but the issues I am having are with the EFI firmware and it not being able to detect the installation on the drive.
might just modify the installation to use legacy booting.
Iāve been reading up on the Thinkpad subreddit and thereās a thread there suggesting that itās possible to trickle-charge the Yoga 720 and X1 Carbon 5 through their thunderbolt ports using an ordinary power bank or wall wart if the machine is powered off. Canāt wait to see if thatās actually the case. Rest assured Iāll be posting a review thread here and at L1.
neat. that sounds awesome. would love to be able to charge a laptop when it Iām out or no where near a charging port even if its only still a trickle-charge.
They say trickle charge because itās at 10-12W with a 2-2.4A 5V power source, but assuming 80% charging efficiency it should only take about 5-6 hours to charge from stone-dead to 100%, which isnāt half bad.
Thats actually pretty damn good and better than I expected. Could definitely work with that.
Hmm. To flash a new BIOS on my ES Quadro 4000 to make it work fully againā¦ Or to design a replacent case and clean my space invader keyboard after work todayā¦
Project Cars 2 video is done. It got delayed cause ADOBE happened. I was on support with ADOBE for 2 hours to get the problem fixed.
Now on linux because I got annoyed at my windows install having issues constantly, so installed Ubunut Budgie.
Quite impressed by how well the open source drivers work now, pretty much everything runs without issues.
Neat. As long as it works for what you need, great.
Me I have
Lubuntu which is Ubuntu with the lxde desktop on my very cheap lenevo. Iām thinking of install pixel os from the rasiberry pi developers. just havenāt had time to do it yet.
Iāve played with a good many linux distros.
I used to exclusively use linux on laptops, but i just kept getting angry at my x370/1600x/390 continually having strange issues in windows. A lot of it was the motherboard (being an MSI X370 Titanium aka pissboard by some freindsā¦ you can guess why)
last one that pushed me over was the sound card developing a glitch that would, every few seconds, stutter the audio and mess it up. (not sure how to explain it better lol). But that really got on my nerves so.
Seems fine in Ubunut 17.04 so probably just needed a reinstall of windows but i figure why not switch to linux if Iām going to be reinstalling the OS anyway.
I also have my 1500X/RX 570 system with windows for gaming and streaming, so just need to switch monitors and keyboard, etc over to stream and stuff.
So is nice.
Busy work day. Not going to be on main computer today. Will spend evening start rewatching Season 1 of Mr Robot, I 'll finish rewatching season 1 and two by the time season 3 starts. Iāll also will be continue to rewatch Season 1 of Justified and Monster [Anime]. Also working on writing.
edit: Iām really tired. I moved this to here cause I posted it in the wrong place. meh.
