Saw Deadpool 2. When I got home I watched War for Planet of the Apes tonight.

The following are my spoiler free thoughts on Deadpool 2:
Deadpool 2 leans too heavy on breaking the 4th wall. Yes Deadpool does that in the comics and the first film but it was well balanced. The other problem is the film references other things that will be super dated 10 years from now. Don’t get me wrong there are a few funny moments but it isn’t as solid as the 1st film and it already fails the 10 year test [I know it hasn’t been 10 years yet but I can tell this things from a first viewing.] Would I recommend you see it? Sure good for a quick burn. Nice to watch. Lacks staying power.

Spoiler Free thoughts on War for Planet of the Apes [2017] -
Andy Serkis Planet of the Apes series is solid. Make no mistake. This re-imagining was very well done. Each of the films are great. This one had a weight to it throughout. Honestly it isn’t much of an actual War film. However the execution of what it does is amazing. The mo-cap performances/acting are stellar. Pacing was solid. Easily can see myself rewatching this film in 10 years and still enjoy it.

Is that the one the FBI were on about? seems to affect Netgear models the most right now with a couple of Linksys, one TP-LINK and a few others.

This is the article I read on it

In other news I may be moving down the street sooner than I thought. I was thinking September but now it looks like it could be Late July early August. Which is good cause living off of $200 a month after bills and has been a struggle. Rent will be much more reasonable and I’ll have about $800 a month after rent and bills which is much better. Gives me the ability to save up for a new car, pay off debt [very old mistakes], and save money for retiring.

Just did the math and my extended battery is in really bad shape :frowning:. its sitting at 32% total capacity which is REALLY bad. 32Whr out of the 100 the battery sticker claims it has.

the main battery is sitting good at 90% total capacity so i might not replace it. 75Whr/83Whr so not completely terrible. Might throw the money i was going to use for the main battery at a second extended battery that i can either hotswap it out or incase one dies

I might end up with enough money to buy a new GPU but dont know if thats where i want to put the money. Thinking about picking up a PSP for stuff like emulators

The batteries are literally just a lottery as the only reasonably priced ones are used so. (For the secondary ones anyway). I’d just get a nicer GPU to play games with… But thats just because I don’t like gambling with money things unless there’s actually a reasonable chance I will get what I want/need. That said. The secondary batteries are $20 shipped. So its not really that annoying but still…

There’s also the fact that emulators are ultra cheap now considering all you have to do is load up a rasp pi or similar with retropi and whatever else and then you are done lol. For like $40 or similar usually.

this place completely died after school was out :frowning:

thats ebay/3rd party in general

want something small and portable. would also have to get a screen, controllers, etc for it also as i dont have any of those things

sadly yes :frowning:

yep the thing with the rarspberry is you factor in stuff like the battery, charge circuity, buttons, case, screen, controllers, and all that stuff which is easily over $100 and it wouldn’t even be as compact and robust as a psp anywhere. I was gonna do that once but decided not to because the parts alone cost too much for it to be worth it for me.

i considered buying a pi-top and just throwing a few massive batterys into it lol

lol yea pi-top would kinda neat to have as a portable light device and wouldn’t be terrible for gaming too. could also run that for ages with a big enough battery. my usb power bank alone could run my pi for a couple of days easily.

ive got 20k mAh worth of lithium batterys lying around lol

lol yeah that would do it, almost the same as my power bank. those in multiple cells? would be interesting to tie all that together in one device.
