Coffee is bean broth that turns into soup when you add cream and sugar.
RIP secondary battery. has such shit capacity that its not even worth using
Got my ASUS P5E back with the one working 8GB kit of DDR2-1100. Now I need to decide if I want to keep the MSI X48C-Platinum, or do an overclocking comparison on the boards with the QX6800.
Iām somewhat annoyed at twitch, lol. I could give less of a shit about Fortnite, pubg, Overwatch and etc that are popular games but when I play what I like to barely get any chat interaction. (Yes some of that is due to me. And playing strategy games a lot; but still). And yet the popular games get a lot more people in just because its those games.
Oh well.
In other news. Actually donāt have much going on today yet anyway. Probably going to go find some parts for the mod later and then mayybe do some other stuff as well later. And then work Wooo
Oh also. Probably going to end up soldering my custom copper loop together. Was just going to use compression fittings but that doesnt actually work for anything lolā¦ So that will be interesting , might take a few attempts. But on the plus side the tubing I got is the HVAC kind so its semi-bendable by hand so thats nice.
Also, 18-24 hour long days take some getting used to
@Fouquin do you have any idea what the power control and power monitor circuit does in the BIOS of the 8760W? laptop has been running really hot and trying to figure out why. (Idleing at around 70C)
Its not windows related as it does it in linux as well
Might end up having to take this apart and reapply thermal paste
might be worth it, reapplying thermal paste made a huge difference to my laptops thermals but it was using 7 year old factory paste at that point.
Dont have any thermal paste or the money to buy it right now though.
thats a shame hopefully Fouquin has some ideas until you are able to
Theres a part of my brain telling me todo LM XD
kek thought crossed my mind for my laptop even though its such a bad idea but canāt shake it XD
nah you donāt need LM as long as you put the paste on properly:
i wont do it as i can take zero risk because if i kill this laptop then im screwed on a computer for the next year or so
yep totally not worth it if that laptop is your only option, Iām just slightly curious how mine will do under LM but its almost dead anyway so maybe exciting experiments in the future XD
Hmm. Odd. I did redo thermal paste when I installed the i7
That said, if the i5 and i7 models are actually quite different, might be the heatsink
Then again its not like ivy bridge is known for running cool in laptops lol. Unlike coffeelake and such.
For example @Dje4321 just the gen before your laptop, the quad core high clock laptop i7s would max at 85-95C under normal use (and idle in the 50-70 range. Because yeah.
And the gen before thatā¦ Well. They wereā¦ 1.6ghz base clock and boost clock to like 2.8ghz maybe on quad core i7s just to keep thermals in check.
unless you changed out the cpu cooler than im still using the 35W version
i dont mind it being hot when im using it but sitting around 70C IDLE is way too hot for me
Its a laptop, this is normal lol.
Its maybe 5 or 10c above normal but thats probably just the heatsink at that point
Also; you can possibly change the fan speeds. I donāt entirely remember if any of the fan tuning software works on laptops but can try it.
i tried but no ball
