Been cashing in on the discounts all month. Buying boot-only desktops at local shops and parting them out to cash in on those sweet savings.

Sell the driving sim stuff 
I’ll be on the lookout for SSDs (2.5", not m.2…well, maybe if it’s SATA cause my laptop’s m.2 slot doesn’t support PCIe), HDDs (ext./int.), monitors, keyboards. Doesn’t mean I’ll end up buying anything for myself.
Just have to get different car insurance. I’ve talked with a ton of people and all of them seem to think I’m paying way too much, which I’ve also thought.
Anyway, time to get ready for some meat harvesting activity.

On a different topic: I’m using Fedora 27 with KDE on my laptop but the standard DE Fedora comes with is Gnome. If I do an upgrade to F28 will it change the DE too or just leave it alone?

meh? I really wanted to play the game and uplay isn’t so bad, at least its not Origin.
With the standard dnf upgrade? you should be fine. It will upgrade packages that are already there to the newer version and set it up as F28. if your worried the transaction log will show you what changes will be made before you go ahead with anything or you could always just do a clean install instead.

That’s the plan when something goes wrong but I’m not in the mood for setting up and installing again.
And last time I wanted to install a different distro (Ubuntu Budgie) it told me the microcode firmware needs an update and just wouldn’t let me proceed to the installation. F27 installed without an issue so I haven’t fiddled with it since then.

You might want to check wiki page on the dnf upgrade before you do anything, it shows you how it works and lists some edge cases that might arise and how to solve them if they happen.

Fed29 is mostly setup to where I had Fed27. Also enabled Proton for Steam but the amount of games I can play on my laptop is limited…turns out I have most of my point n click adventures from GoG. Guess it’s time to figure out how to install those on Fedora.

family going crazy lately… me:
hopefully it’ll be busy enough for me to stay at work today lol, yesterday well yeah no. i guess I’ll find out.
otherwise played a ton of Quake Champions yesterday and then some space hulk EE. was fun. not sure what I’ll do today. yeah.
Oh also been watching Mad Men recently, never watched it originally and its pretty good so far (like 6 episodes in). Not sure if I’ll keep watching but for now its interesting so.
