The Lounge 0001 [From the Beginning]

pretty good video. Really gives you a idea of what you could expect out of it

Is interesting just how different each of them are in the way they handle the customer with OEMs like HP and Dell provding full over the phone service and the more boutique system builders directing them to build a system on their site with suggestions. I couldn’t believe just how Cyberpower completely dropped the ball on hat though, its the whole reason for a sales team and they fluffed it.

Made… Something. General Tsos sauce+BBQ sauce+ ham+ elbow noodles is actually good. Though with deep fried chicken would be a lot better but that requires work lol.

Work was decent. Now have a few days off… Maybe… Other guy I work with apparently keeps leaving early so he may or may not be working here too long but I’ll see I guess.

Otherwise HI.

So my glasses have broke again for about the third time in a few months, the arm has a little peice that pivots and attaches the screwhole to the arm and it snapped off. I have a spare one and managed to get it off while stabbing myself with a screwdriver in the process, however because of the small peice that pivots I can’t line up the screwhole of the new leg without pulling on it first and theres no way to do that once its in place to be screwed in :woman_facepalming:

The more these break I find out how crappy there were made :frowning:

The screw was in way too tight and the driver slipped right into my finger and stripped the screw, I had to use a pair of snips in the end and cut it out of the housing which worked fairly well.

yeah they really are a pain. You kinda get used to them after a while but that is when you forget about it and end up breaking them, I should probably get laser eye surgery at some point though to fix it.

My mom got that but it didnt last very long. About 5-ish years. No thank you for me. Would be hard to program blind

ah I remember when I wore glasses… the last pair I wore are at the bottom of a lake.

I see fine without them, just can’t see too well when my right eye is covered

if theres a measurable risk of me going blind or it not working after a couple years then fuck that, it’d rather wear glasses and deal with it.

Both my parents had it done and they’re fine. Dad had his done over 20 years ago, mom had hers at least 13 years ago.

to be fair the only reason she even got it is because they sent her a 50% off flyer in the mail XD

lol that sounds just like my mother, would do anything for a bargin no matter what it is XD

Finally managed to fix my glasses. wedged a screwdriver down to pull it and widen the gap and turned the arm so I had just enough room for the screw to catch

800MHz boost increase compared to the best Ryzen 7 1000 series CPU is pretty impressive. And it puts them closer to Intel.

Hm…a Ryzen 3000 would be damn nice. But I think I’ll wait until the next thing after that before I upgrade (or until the next thing after that comes out and get a 3700X or something for cheap).

This is very quickly becoming my favourite series on youtube. Even has a nice intro trailer too.

Today’s… Been a weird one. Man when a great grandma is leaving it’s… Odd. The side of my family that is on her side is… Well, strange is the easiest way to put it. Today I helped my grandpa move a bunch of stuff out before my great aunt threw it all out… Fucking weird day.

In other news got some Shiner Holiday Cheer which is actually quite good. Oddly Peaches+ pecans mixes great with a dark wheat beer. Neat.

I guess one of my motherboard’s USB ports doesn’t do data anymore.

Just had a weird incident - where I’m still not sure if it is related or not - where I was wondering why my room was getting so warm. Turns out all front intake fans weren’t spinning. Shut my PC down, opened the side to look at the case’s fan hub…but no visual signs of any issues.
Turned my PC on and when I noticed during posting that the RGB lights were reset to default again (which also means all other BIOS settings were reset to default) I wanted to enter the BIOS but my keyboard didn’t register any keystrokes. Plugged the new one in and after some un-/plugging I noticed that it would light up (gets power) but no data. Confirmed that with my tablet too: it charges but the file transfer option doesn’t even pop up like it usually does upon detecting a connection.

Reeeaaally not in the mood for an RMA but what else can I do? Also doesn’t explain the fans not spinning anymore as they’re only connected to the fan hub which is directly plugged into the PSU, so no connection to the mobo.
(edit: Gigabyte states on their website that upon all warranty inquiries the distributor needs to be contacted first, so I’ll do that later today (as the operating times for Amazon’s customer service are over)).

On a side note: the new keyboard’s keys seem to be closer to each other which results in a lot of mis-clicks. I’ll get used to it, but still a bit annoying.

yeah RMA sucks but you’ve had nothing but trouble with that motherboard and might as well just send it in now before anything else goes wrong or worse damages other components.

Yeah. But I’ll contact Amazon first to see if they’ll do a replacement again (Gigabyte says to do so anyway). Would be much less hassle than an RMA.
I have 3 years warranty on it, not sure how long a distributor has to deal with it before they point at the manufacturer as direct contact.

@Michael btw, that Windows 10 version is retail, right? so no annoying re-activating stuff like with OEM versions? (I’m sure I asked that already at some point but my brain like to toss stuff like that and remember unnecessary stuff instead -_-)
