It is static. It doesnt react to the spinning. It just sits on top of the avatar and just sits there

Mobo and RAM have arrived. The packaging alone feels so much more premium than of my current stuff. 
Sooo sexyyyy! The VRM heatsinks are MASSIVE. Couldhave more fins but in terms thermal massā¦wow.

Good, cause the RAM is a fucking piece of shit.
Booted after swapping out the old mobo/ram -> windows errors and bluescreens.
Okay, maybe it doesnāt like the old drivers. Nope, doesnāt even want to install chipset driver properly.
Lets start from scratch.

The Flare X 3200 kit is the same ram that I have, it works perfectly on my Hero vi. If i recall correctly the Hero VI and Hero VII are basically the same board with a few minor changes aside from the newer chip set. And even then X370 and X470 arenāt that different from each other to begin with.

ReShade is an odd duck. It works with some DX9 but not all. Itās hit or miss.

Theyāre also one of the kits with Samsung b-die. Fortunately they cost about the same (200ā¬ Trident Z vs 217ā¬ Flare X).
As long as it works I donāt care. But this is the first time I got DoA RAM.
Regarding X370 vs X470, I donāt see a benefit getting an older chipset. The VI does have 8x SATA ports but I just took one empty HDD out to improve airflow and temps, so 6x is still enough for me. And the VII has 2x m.2 (with some disadvantages when using the 2nd one but itās better than another SATA drive).
I really donāt need the features for extreme overclocking with LN2, though.

Iām running everything but the memory at stock, I havenāt touched any of the fancy features my motherboard has. High end OC mobos arenāt really needed by most people, but the build quality of them is very nice to have.

At what speeds is your ram running?

To sleep or try the old ram and at least get windows installed again?
My ram is running at the speed and timing that G.Skill speced it to. By default ram should just operate at the JEDEC standard for DDR4.

My Trident Z kit is DDR4-3200 yet in the BIOS the default is DDR4-2133. Thereās no point buying faster RAM if you leave it at whatever the BIOS tells you to.
Anywayā¦set it to DDR4-2133 and until now memtest86 isnāt throwing up errors like before.
Still return the RAM or is it fine and just the rated speeds bs with my mobo?
nvm, remembered that it was throwing up in Winderp too before I even changed anything in the BIOS (booted and later during an attempted fresh install).
My bad memory is one day gonna make me pay a high price.
tbh, now Iām not sure if I fiddled with the RAM speeds before even booting into the existing install of Windows.
Ran memtest86 with the RAM set to DDR4-2133 and DDR4-2933 and no errors. But with DDR4-3200 always errors.
Attempting to install Windows again now.
Unsure if I should cancel the order for the Flare X and return process of the Trident Z thenā¦

Like, it lists the cl16 variants for flare x but not the cl14 that i ordered.
And it listst the cl14 and cl16 varianta but not the cl15 trident z i have.
At least i managed to get it on a stable speed setting where i can install windows again. Pqin in the ass to set everything up again but was probably time for a fresh install anyway.
