I’ve seen the memes. I still like it.
Well, maybe not the glass they use for the windows…
its a tesla tho lol
That’s why I’m still hoping it comes with built-in flamethrowers.
nah will just come with usual mac features like over priced, over rated, will show up at your house and try to kill you if you try to fix it yourself
And basically no charging stations around.
and the ones that are there will probably be outdated within a couple years and suck lol
thats not the rapid charge 3 its gonna take 95min
Or fry your car’s electrics.
mayb lel
start a nice warming sensation coming from the bottom before you have to run out of the car real fast
@Michael @Dje4321 @ThatBootsGuy just noticed that the d-pad on the Switch is just 4 separate buttons and not a cross. how’s that for gaming? does it feel weird? I’ve seen replacements with an actual d-pad and the Switch Lite also has the cross. kinda weird. I guess they went with that so that in multiplayer mode both players have the same layout. but still.
I really can’t say I’ve even thought about it, I just used the controller and it was fine either way
As long as it works it’s fine.
A few years ago I bought a cheapo USB SNES controller cause the d-pad on the X360 controller is garbage for side scrollers imo. Boy was that a disappointment. The travel distance until the button press registered was too long. Good thing the XBO controller and also the 8bitdo SF/SN30 Pro are much better.
Different topic but still related: are you thinking about when you’ll have to replace the batteries in your Switch? (console + joy cons) I know they’re available now (even from ifixit) but what about in a few years when it’ll be necessary?
If it ever gets to that point then sure, the Switch is actually pretty easy to disassemble if you only want to get at the batteries and replace them.
Aren’t playstation controllers like that? Worked just fine for me back in the day
And even if it’s a plastic cross on top it’s still 4 individual contacts underneath so it’s just a matter of handfeel that’s the difference there. If it’s a functional problem then it’s the travel of the dome underneath which you could mitigate with adding something to the bottom of the button.
Yeah, I just watched the disassembly video from Jerryrigeverything today.
Pretty straight forward and after you removed the plastic back there’s only 1 small component you have to remove to get under the metal plate and ta-da, there’s the battery ready to unplug (although glued in, so…yeah. don’t pry it out with something sharp).
But it still contacts a set of 4 rubber dome contacts yes?
Yes and the rubberdome thingy is one piece. There’s not difference at that level but for how it feels pressing them it is. See how the inside of the buttons on the DS4 is angled? The d-pad on the XBO controller is also angled inwards. Makes “round” movements much easier as well as diagonal movements instead of having to press 2 separate buttons.
This kind of d-pad can be an issue if done cheaply. Like when it’s too sensitive and instead of going in a straight line you press diagonal by accident. The X360 controller had that issue cause it was too easy to shift the pressure and accidentally pressing diagonally. Felt more like a cheapo clicky joystick. I guess that’s why there’s a different version of the X360 controller available with a slightly different d-pad. And the XBO d-pad is just a cross.
but dome is the worst kind of switch literally no one would ever use them except peasants
Not at all. Plus it lets you break games that expected the dpad to never be pressing in both directions.
I liked it too. Was nice to have something that doesnt just follow the same 3 basic shapes and trys to be unique. 100% form over function though. I dont know a single person who uses a truck for truck things that would buy it.
