Alright, I gave in and I’m installing Ubuntu Budgie on my laptop right now.
Meh…not sure I like it. It’s really just small things, but for example there’s no top panel icon for brightness (nope, tried to add one, there ain’t any). Only 3 options for what to do when you press the power button. Overall it feels less polished than Fedora w/ KDE.
I’ll give Kubuntu a try before I go back to Fedora again.
When you guys install a new distro, do you opt for the normal installation or the minimal installation?
I can do without the pre-installed games and media players as I install my own, but what utilities are missing in the minimal installation?

It depends entirely on what I want todo. least with Fedora the minimal installation gives you the absolute little as possible for a working system and that usually also includes no graphical user interface at all and you’d have todo all the initial setup and package installation from the commandline.

depends on distro, different installation options, even on some for different installation methods of the same distro, like net install vs cd/dvd

Depends on the purpose. For my personal device, regular install as ill use most things that come with it and even if i dont mind as space is never really a concern for me on linux
For something like a server. I basically install a kernel, a shell and a few utilities and thats it. Everything else just gets added as the production enviroment needs it

xz, transmission, gimp, handbrake, blender, audacity, nano, leafpad, geany, pcmanfm or something, galculator etc
most what normally use besides some command line/dependencies and stuff

Just woke up like one and a half hours ago. Sleep schedule is fucked too.
Have a headache cause I’m dehydrated (not surprised after over 12h of sleep).
No idea how I will spend my time for the next ~24h or so in an attempt to fix my sleep schedule.
