You wouldnt download a car
you would download a trap gf
As a side note, the training Iām in is actually really nice. Finally learning my job and as a plus is a good group of people that has a lot of fun learning together so. But downside is, if anyone gets the sick, whole class is cancelled. Meh, not worrying about it for now. Hope that my class continues because like learning useful stuff but if not shrugs
How are you all?
still recovering from feelin weird af for a min
trying to figure out a game to play or something
else just workin some shitty jabs, savin money for house things
Thats nice and sucky. Nice as everyone is forced to learn together and stay on the same page, sucky because i could see how a mob mentality could form against someone if they had to call in sick (Possible multiple weeks if they got the coronavirus)
Pretty good. Waiting on my checks from my job and did a few interviews for other positions to fill in the time.
That and if anyone is sick, due to how tests are here, everyone they come in contact with needs to be tested, and the resulting web of pos/neg results is ⦠Well, annoying at the least and work stop at worst
donāt cough donāt cough donāt cough ACHOOO!!!..crap.
Kinda like when it was decided that the mariana trench would not be used to store radioactive waste.
Two (I think it was 2) people were sent down in a capsule to see if there were signs of live which would indicate that thereās currents down there which would make it not suitable as a place to store radioactive waste.
If they hadnāt seen any sign of life down there (despite there being life forms) who knows what the situation today would be like with a radioactive depot 11km beneath the surface of the ocean (and currents moving it around).
(I moved the post in here cause I think thatās too much offtopic for the meme thread)
As yet we do not know the exact speed or size of these currents, but apparently there must be massive exchanges of water between the surface and the great depths. Thus we have one more reason for prudence in the much-discussed disposal of radioactive waste.
probably some cool godzillas coming up to japan
Donāt know if itās true but I think I read somewhere that we have explored more of outer space than of our oceans. So who knows whatās down there.
well in actual visible area ye prolly i mean a bunch of nerds with telescopes could see more area lol
mean like when that random snake shark came up if it was like 200ft long and just started rampaging on some ships could have been pretty cool
havin some malt liquor and bugles
Might just be me but does anyone else feel like they are disconnected from the world when they loose access to the internet? Best way to describe it is like being plopped down into the middle of a forest without anyone else.
prolly most gen x and newer people lol
Yeah, feels like being cut off from the world, kinda like some weird isolation.
For example information. Unless itās a TV station that reports on news 24/7 the TV is pretty useless for news. You get it served maybe twice a day on local TV stations and even then itās filtered. For ābreaking newsā you have to have the correct channel running at that specific time or else youāre missing out.
Radio is pretty meh too.
Very much so. Iām so used to having it there being this connection to the outside world and access to pretty much any information I almost feel lost without it that I often instinctively try and use it without realizing and instantly feel alone like I have no one to talk to or experience other peoples thoughts or feelings its all just up to me.
On a different note, streaming services and games that require an internet connection even in single player mode also become a problem when you lose access to the internet.
Iām aware that Spotify and Prime let you download tracks/episodes to your device but who keeps a library of those AND updates it frequently? Kinda goes against the āconvenienceā of streaming services.
What about contacting friends and family?
Well, SMS and phone calls are still a thing (thankfully) but most message services require an internet connection. Thatās okay if your friends/family are local but if theyāre in another country or even on a different continent your telecom bill could rise quickly due to expensive prices for long distance calls and texts.
Not everyone relies on ordering their stuff online but for people with disabilities, old people or anxieties itās a real help, especially in a time where going outside for the bare necessities like groceries and medicine and catching a virus can literally mean death.
The internet offers so many convenient services and probably more information than any human person can read/watch in a lifetime. But itās concerning how dependent weāve become.
think texts in us atleast are international/dont matter, basically just data limited emails(literally could send texts to emails and stuff before depending on provider)
also check muh link above lel. is joke but also it does describe the thing
This is why, with a few exceptions, I wonāt play any Warhammer 40K games that are recent. The last like 3 of them have been always on games which is incredibly annoying. Space Hulk Deathwing and some of the older ones are good enough though
But yes. Is concerning somewhat. And the way people (general āpeopleā not specific individuals) interact online is strange at best. I.e. thereās no such thing as news anymore lol.
Joe rogan and a few others break that mold but still.
