SLI (and xfire) have been around for basically 20 years now in various forms and you can see how well that has gone lol so just because it’s more popular now to have more cores may not mean much for some time
also we have had 6/8 cores for some time depending on how you count FX/Phenom and also HT cores.
If you count Phenoms and HT cores on i7s there’s been 6/8core CPUs since around 2009 on the main stream.
i mean the i7 920 was the mid-high range king at $320 for some time.
but the higher end ones were wayyyy more lol like the 6 cores.
meanwhile phenom IIs were fairly cheap and competitive so were popular… until sandy bridge that is
Sorry for the sudden change of topic, but I take it that the standard audio drivers provided by Microsoft for Windows don’t include SPDIF? Since plugging my DAC in via toslink did nothing, didn’t show up at all in the playback devices.
If I have to install the Realtek driver for this then I rather keep using USB. 96kHz is enough, don’t need 192kHz (which only works over SPDIF).
Yup. Sometimes its useful.
Its also occasionally super good for random deals and also laughable listings.
Also I was going to sleep today but I kinda forgot and was then like fuck it 3 hours is pointless I’m just going to stay up
Wooo?
Got up at 10am and now will probably be up until like 7-8pm today so there’s that
They only hold value because mac os and apple. And the new ones are locked down to the point of being trash.
The only value proposition they have is if you actually need the Mac OS based programs which I’m guessing you don’t so.
I have a MBP 2008 somewhere still but it is because I got it for $50 without a battery or charger so.
98% of the time used windows laptops/systems are better.
I will say that Macbook Pros have some serious magic though battery life wise. That assuming you stay on mac OS lol, no idea if any linux distros have the insane level of power management that the newer MBPs have (like 2015 and newer)
