why cant high res screens be a thing. im already so sick 1366x768
Rumor has it you can buy 4k screens.
tell me about it. when I fix my semi-broken laptop Iāll join you in 1366x768 hell
yes but 4k screens are still hard AF to drive with a 2012 crapple laptop. They also cost too much for me
I would be surprised if it could even drive it at all. I tried to connect my shitty laptop to a 4K display before and it couldnāt get an output.
Under $300.
But are they even hard to drive for anything other than gaming?
yes because the display interface is what will limit you. i would also rather have 2 1080p screens vs 1 4k screen
^this
althoughā¦1x 21:9 + 1x monitor in pivot that can do 2x 1080p on top of each other would be nice.
But. 1080p is so limiting. 4k has so much more room for activities lolā¦ Considering you can have 4x 1080p windows open on a 4k monitorā¦
i would spend the extra money for quadros to get access to nvidia mosiac.
yes but my shitty laptops really cant make good use of 4k XD
But those ugly bezelsā¦ugh.
Sure, but on my main monitor I only want 1 application at a time to focus on. 4x 1080p (=4 windows) in a rectangle would be too much for me at the same time.
yes that is true but Iād still prefer two 1080p. 4K is great and all but a single monitor isnāt as versatile as two plus display scaling sucks.
Probably need a new computer anywayā¦ Oh waitā¦
But ive had 1080p and 4k. Much rather have 4k because SO MUCH ROOM FOR ALL THE THINGS lol. And you can downscale to 1440/1080 for gaming.
Also @TheDiddilyHorror ok I guess. For me, my 4k monitor is super useful so I can have OBS, twitch dashboard, my camera viewer page, Twitter, and sometimes a couple other pages as well open on the screen while I am gaming on the 1080p display.
24" 4k without display scaling actually I find fine but 28" or 32" is probably what normal people would find acceptable to run without display scaling lolā¦
I can read tiny text and so on just fine on 24" 4k but a lot of people probably canāt so
i would prefer something in the 22" range but i have very good eyes XD
Iāve gamed on a 4K monitor downscaled to 1080p before and it looks like shit compared to a native 1080p monitor.
The only 4K monitor Iāve ever used is 28" and my god the scaling is soo bad I turned it off but everything is tiny.
part of that might be because you were used to 4k. 4k -> 1080p should scale perfectly
Thatās a lot more thing than Iām using at the same time. If I need to open something up I usually just put it over something existing (for example: email on monitor 1, browser on monitor 2 and youtube playing in the background). At 1080p the readability of smaller windows is meh, otherwise I would use that software Dell has for snapping windows in different places.
But once itās smaller than half the screen itās useless.
I think you mean to say I turned it on.
Because display scaling on windows is a) terrible and b) makes say for example a 4k monitor only seem like a 1080p one size and everything wise
Wait.
Nvm confused by English there for a bit
