My sister is the same way. My mom got a new phone and my sister was SUPER pissed that she didnt get a new phone. Went on a rant about how she was not loved and i sat their and laughed at her the whole time XD

To her its mostly a fashion statement and to fit in with everyone else because they all have them and she’s left out but I don’t agree with 13 year olds have £1000 smartphone its ridiculous
My mother just got an iPhone 7 recently and that is exactly the phone my sister wants, she was super fucking pissed at that.

my kids wouldnt even get anything past a super basic symbian phone until near the end of middle school or beginning of high school. though they would probably have access to some high computers though XD

In HS I was in a mix of richie rich and middle/lower class and it was funny watching people strut around with the (then only $600) phones lol. Like
“Hey look theres someone I probably don’t want to talk to”
Meanwhile I had an iphone 3gs for a while, and I was super happy to get the first gen moto X a few years after it was new. TBH I would still use it if it was just a bit more powerful because it started struggling a few years ago with even stuff like web browsing so. Yeah

yep which is the way it should be, a phone should just be a phone at that age for emergencies and such, has been a lot of times where my sister has ran the battery flat on her phone dicking around on social media and we have no idea where she was or how to contact her. happens a lot and mother gets pissed. at least with a symbian phone that can’t even happen.

Yup. That kind here drives around in Mercedes and BMW and then steal vegetables on the fields…pathetic.
Same with phones. They get the newest, most expensive phones and then can’t afford to go out with friends.

Actually this gives me an idea… Get a slip phone and put a few minutes on it from one of those el cheapo plans and then just have it in the car at all times. Might come in handy.
