Wait. It won’t get ride of the bars. Sadly.
Films have two aspects:
1.85:1 and 2.39:1
Wait there is more. When the film is transferred to bluray or ultra blu ray. It is converted to the limits of the ratio for those which is 16:9. Which means even if you had a monitor or a projector with 1:85:1 and 2:39:1 the film would still have the bars.

Edit:
There is a way to get ride of the black bars though…

VLC is love, life, and media player. Also you can crop out the black bars.

I have a 29:9 freesync monitor and it’s great.
also @wolfleben on my monitor the black bars are so small that I don’t notice them in films.
