The portability is the Switchās big advantage. Nintendo applied to a console what they are best at: mobile gaming. Phones, tablets, laptops and even handhelds (Vita, 3DS) are no match for it in terms of mobility, performance and price. A Surface is too expensive to be a decent competitor.
But thatās also a big disadvantage: it lacks the performance of the home consoles and a proper PC. And didnāt they make the voice chat thing retarded?
If you want to play PC games on the go you can get a GPD Win, or variant thereof. My buddy has one and loves it. Itās a little more pricey than the switch, but itās like a handheld laptop with a built in gamepad.
There was also the Pandora a few years back which was running Linux.
from what ive seen the GPD win has very shit performance. even worse than my school laptop atm.
My thoughts on the switch;
For me its literally pointless. As I have my gaming computer when at home with every game I want (or I can get the ones I dont have yet that I want for pretty cheap because steam and also game code sites I.e. humble bundle etc)
Or if Iām going to be using something on the go, Iād rather have a laptop than an already outdated tablet that can only play Nintendo games.
That being said Iāve never cared for any of the Nintendo games so.
(Never had the old school systems and my family was too poor to afford any of the Nintendo DS consoles so I never played that as a kid. The only one Iāve owned is a Game boy Advance SP and that was a decent thing. )

Unrelated; going to be doing more work on the streaming area today will be done enough to start with insulation. Still will have the other half the room to do but still.

ive always loved the nintendo games as they a pretty fun. Laptops are great for on the go but doing any gaming is fairly hard because battery life is fairly shit

Yep also Zelda is actually really fun and looks amazing. Slightly less so on a monitor compared to the switch its self imo but still great. Also didnāt know this but you can record videos directly to the microsd card. is only 30 seconds but still pretty cool.

I mean similar specced android tablets have as good or better battery life when gaming lolā¦ And the Switch from that side of things is like 3 gens out already.
Actual PC laptops/tablets are getting better lately as well especially in thin and light that still have dgpus.

At least if you get a PS4 just for the exclusives i can ubderstand that because theres ones that are actually pretty epic but Mario and Zelda? Lol. See above.
Also because is a mobile device can make the nintendo games run on PC, no idea if thats a thing on PS4 exclusive.
PS exclusives are kinda meh though for the most part. Is why I havenāt even touched my PS4 in like 3 years.

Horizon Zero Dawn looks interesting gameplay-wise, but from what Iāve seen it seems to lack depth.
Other than thatā¦well, just trash the exclusives. Half-assed poop targeted at your average console gamer that falls for the grind and cinematic farts.

Havenāt played Zero Dawn. Brother has it but kinda looked boring to me. The Last of Us was alright but way overrated and played it on PS3 anyway.

Is also why I mainly ignore every console. I can get the games I actually want on PC and if I really give that much of a care I can force the console games to work lolā¦ Like the Nintendo ones if I really cared at all about I Could just play on my PC.

Oh, I played that too. It was my first game for the original XBox and I even pre-ordered the Halo 2 Coll. Ed.
But those āpioneersā are usually meant to be taken as an idea and then improved. Not cloned until itās so overbred that theyāve lost all of their substance and are held together by a paper-mĆ¢chĆ© skin.
