thats very reassuring at least, seems like it should just be a drop in replacement then and can assume the bios supports.

I mean it could have been one of about six different options lol but still

Lmao

Also @dje4321 both of the remaining parts for the laptop should arrive by tomorrow (the M.2 adapter and i7)

after that it ships?

Probably Monday? Will see. Going to a lan party in Minneapolis with a bunch of friends so. Also @Main_Main will be there.
Should be fun. I’ll be picking up an X470 board at microcenter as well. Might do a build with the 2700X for the lan with the x470 board I get there… Or just bring my system I have now there. Have not decided yet.

cool. Just let me know when you need my shipping info

New World record… For the time being. Anyway.

yep I’m literally watching this video right now XD

Also seeing as how its 30mins from launch;
2700X is 8-10% faster IPC than 1800X. And when on X470 with the higher boost states, the 2700X is 20-30% faster overall when both are at stock with boost states on.

damn thats a pretty good bump in performance over Ryzen 1

Also interesting new feature of X470:
StoreMI. Which basically is a fuck you to Optane lmao…

Socket AM4, which includes new AMD StoreMI technology – intelligent storage solution that combines a fast SSD with the capacity of a large mechanical hard drive into a single, accelerated, easy-to-use storage solution

damn those world records the of 2700X. it beat an i7-7820X in Geekbench and GPUPI at much lower clocks. just shows how efficient Ryazen+ really is :joy:

Interesting so is pretty much combining them and using the SSD as a caching drive? Maybe not totally a fuck you to Optane because that has other advantages but neat none the less.

Yep. Now AMD is basically king of the mainstream
You know what… This might actually be the CPU I do the liquid cooling build ive been wanting to do for some time with. Because it can sustain 4.3+ ghz given adequate cooling… Hmmm…

And now AMD is super close with single core to Intel. And multicore… Mmmhm. That multicore.

As I don’t currently have X470 I cant really test it but will have to see. But the only use for it and that anybody except HPC users care about is now also done by AMD… Except. You can use any m.2/ssd with it so. At least thats what I gather so far.

sounds about right. I figured that AMD would iron out where they were limited on clock speeds. Didnt expect 6Ghz of optimization.
