It is definitely an internal wagh day at work.
So I have these now, a friend knew someplace that was decommissioning server equipment and grabbed me a couple. Donāt really have a use for them but will be fun to play around with
Work : If you want to, you can work the weekend.
Me : Nope.
Are those 10G cards?
indeed, there dual port SFP+ cards
For your pr0n server?
sssshhh i donāt have that much porn on my server
Good to see but damage was already done. Wonder if companies will switch the names back or was this nvidias plan all along?
God damn it AvE
I suspect most will but charging branding is a lot of work and iirc there are a couple of cards with the new branding out in the wild. I think for this generation we will have new branding on a couple of cards before they switch back in the next cycle.
Would be nice if the AiBs switched the main brands to AMD only because now that the GPP is gone there is nothing against it
That would be a nice kick in the teeth to Nvidia for doing the GPP but sadly I doubt any of the AiBs would have the balls todo anything like that to Nvidia from fear of backlash.
So i set windows defender todo a full scan and i regret that decision some
RIP did it hit that SSHD?
no idea. i just clicked full scan and ran it. Had a bit of a scare when i installed some questionable software and got some malware. Rolled back a day and now doing a scan
lel yeah full scans can be brutel, only ever do quick scans for this reason but best be on the safe side I guess. usually rollbacks are good enough though.
The only time I usually need virus scanning is if Iām doing old games lol⦠I.e. the ones that are a birch to run ubless they are emulated in VMs of old OSes or systems (which is basically never⦠But stillā¦)
Also Windows virus protection thinks a lot of old games are⦠Viruses lmao. So I have it off most of the time anyway. For some reason Crysis is shown as a āvirusā (both 1 and 2). So thereās that too lol
yep. as soon as i saw the software doing things without my consent i forced a shutdown by holding the power button. Wanted to prevent some kind of ransomware before it had a chance of striking.
